Gratitude & Joy
Angels are his courtiers, the redeemed his favourites, and all delight to serve him day and night.
There is no purer or more thrilling delight to be known this side heaven than that of having Christ’s joy fulfilled in us.
Where is the man who shall estimate our divine portion? Weigh the riches of Christ in scales, and his treasure in balances, and then think to count the treasures which belong to the saints.
Why should not every year be richer than the past, in love, and usefulness, and joy?
Oh, noble and pleasant employment to be forever gazing at our sweet Lord Jesus!
We bless God, then, for our afflictions; we thank him for our changes; we extol his name for losses of property.
Sing, believer, for it will cheer thine own heart, and the hearts of other desolate ones.
