Hope & Comfort
I did prefer this book of Martin Luther upon the Galatians (excepting the Holy Bible) before all the books that ever I had seen, as most fit for a wounded conscience.
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through perseverance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
The testimony is this: that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
