Peace & Calm
If any one strives to be delivered from his troubles out of love of God, he will strive patiently, gently, humbly and calmly, looking for deliverance rather to God’s Goodness and Providence than to his own industry or efforts.
A wrathful man stirs up contention, but one who is slow to anger appeases strife.
A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, patient,
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
That calm, unmurmuring, unreviling patience, which made the Lamb of God dumb before His shearers, is ours.
