Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but joy comes to the promoters of peace.
Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
Contentment doth prepare and tune the heart. First you prepare the viol, and wind up the strings, ere you play a fit of music: when a Christian’s heart is wound up to this heavenly frame of contentment, then it is fit for duty.
Stand in awe, and don’t sin. Search your own heart on your bed, and be still.

Contentment lies within a man, in the heart; and the way to be comfortable, is not by having our barns filled, but our minds quiet.
For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
