God, the Almighty God, the Creator of Heaven and earth, is not a far-off Deity.
This blessed life must not be looked upon in any sense as an attainment but as an obtainment.

When we avouch the Lord to be our God, and that we will walk in His ways and keep His commandments, He avouches us to be His, and that we shall keep all His commandments; and from that moment He takes possession of us.
Perfect obedience would be perfect happiness, if only we had perfect confidence in the power we were obeying.
God is able to save unto the uttermost, and He means to do it.
