It is Jesus, praying Himself, who teaches to pray. He knows what prayer is. He learned it amid the trials and tears of His earthly life. In heaven it is still His beloved work: His life there is prayer.
Thy fishes breathe but where thy waters roll; Thy birds fly but within thy airy sea; My soul breathes only in thy infinite soul; I breathe, I think, I love, I live but thee.

This spiritual light is the dawning of the light of glory in the heart.
God will not suffer our hearts to find any rest, like the dove going forth from Noah’s ark, until it returns to God, whence it came.
God is what He is through His Spirit; the Spirit is the very life of God.
Therefore we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Prayer has to deal with God, and is only resultful as it has to do with God.
She did not merely alight upon the roof of the ark, she came in to him.
If there be a God, and I am his creature, there may be, there should be, there must be some communication open between him and me.
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;” that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
The more one knows Him, the more one desires to know Him.
