Behold, we put ourselves as blanks in thine hands, deal with us as seemeth good in thy sight, only let every cross, ever affliction, every temptation, be overruled to the stamping thy blessed image in more lively characters on our hearts.
To be holy is to be Godlike, to have a disposition, a will, a character like God.
To learn Christ is to be made like Christ, to have the divine characters of his holiness engraven upon our hearts: we all with open face, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image.
Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,

Yahweh’s law is perfect, restoring the soul. Yahweh’s covenant is sure, making wise the simple.
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
All men are mirrors—that is the first law on which this formula is based. One of the aptest descriptions of a human being is that he is a mirror.
Every step you take out of an angry and wrathful heart, and out of a sour, sullen, and morose heart, and into a meek and peace-making heart; out of envy and uneasiness, and into admiration and honour: on the spot your heavenly Father will acknowledge and will reward you.
