Peace & Calm
Oh that you had listened to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
The peace of the soul consists in an absolute resignation to the will of God.
From the moment that you cease to desire anything according to your own judgment, and begin to will everything just as God wills it, you will be free from your former tormenting reflections.
The Lord will give us his peace most plenteously, but not in a way of idleness.
If you would please God, and be men of his heart, be contented.
