The peace of the soul consists in an absolute resignation to the will of God.

Scripture · Guidance & Wisdom

Everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

Quote · Strength & Perseverance

At the root the one thing that works against God’s will is the evil one’s will. And on the other hand the one thing that effectively thwarts Satan’s plans is a man wholly given up to God’s will.

Quote · Strength & Perseverance

A life of absolute surrender has its difficulties. I do not deny that. Yes, it has something far more than difficulties: it is a life that with men is absolutely impossible.

Quote · Faith & Trust

God’s promise is, that He will work in us to will as well as to do of His good pleasure. This, of course, means that He will take possession of our will, and work it for us.

God is life, and love, and blessing, and power, and infinite beauty, and God delights to communicate Himself to every child who is prepared to receive Him; but ah! this one lack of absolute surrender is just the thing that hinders God.

Scripture · Guidance & Wisdom

I am going the way of all the earth. You be strong therefore, and show yourself a man; and keep the instruction of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn yourself.

Scripture · Faith & Trust

Saying and doing are two things, and are as diverse as are the soul and the body.

Give yourself to the Lord definitely and fully, according to your present light, asking the Holy Spirit to show you all that is contrary to God.

Quote · Strength & Perseverance

Demands unknown before are continually being made upon the Christian: it is the ever fresh rousing and calling, asking and sending of the Spirit that worketh in the children of obedience.
