Love
Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
All who believed were together, and had all things in common;
And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
It is not the weight or worth of the gift, but the desire of a man in his kindness.
In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Love gives. It gives freely and without stint, yet always thoughtfully.
God’s nature is to be always giving.
Charity is only a little bit of Love, one of the innumerable avenues of Love.
