For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.

Believers in Christ Jesus are saved. They are not looked upon as persons who are in a hopeful state, and may ultimately be saved, but they are already saved.
A great many men will barely get to heaven as Lot got out of Sodom, burned out, nothing left.
We work because we are saved; we do not work to be saved.
